Custom Sailing Charter

Explore the Mechudo Corridor, the islands and coast between La Paz and Loreto, as you cruise aboard our 45' sailing catamaran that was baptized after that section of coastline and the local legend of the same name.  Our crew can fill you in on the lore of El Mechudo!  Catamaran El Mechudo is designed by Robertson and Caine, one of the world’s leading charter boat builders, and offers comfortable on-board amenities for your group of up to 10 passengers.  You design your route and itinerary to maximize your experience of the wonders of the Sea of Cortez, with its stunning coastlines and remote protected coves.  Customize your trip dates and length, and create an expedition that is perfect for your family, friends, or other small group.

Seize each day, sailing yourself or just riding along, finding new adventures, and enjoying the contrasts between the desert and sea of the Baja California peninsula. At anchor, hop on a paddleboard or kayak to explore the mangroves, or swim and snorkel with schools of tropical fish and a rich diversity of marine invertebrates.   You may be lucky enough to encounter schools of dolphins, different species of whales, or jumping manta rays.  A portion of proceeds from all of our programming supports local research, conservation, and education efforts.

You will enjoy a comfortable experience in a variety of conditions on board and underway; in the fall and winter, predominant winds are from the North, and from the South in spring and summer.  Discover new anchorages daily in protected bays along the coastline and among the islands.  The small group-setting helps you get the most out of the expedition and the experience of a knowledgeable naturalist, a seasoned captain, and our first mate/chef, who prepares delicious meals with fresh local ingredients daily.  You will also have opportunities for guided hikes up arroyos filled with songbirds, lizards, and highly-adapted desert plants to explore the wonders of the desert as well as the sea.
