Base Camp Yoga & Paddleboard

“Yoga is firstly for individual growth, but through individual growth, society and community develop.”  ~B.K.S. Iyengar

Go deeper this year! Join us this season at Isla Espiritu Santo, and keep an eye out next year for a pilot trip at our newest Mechudo Corridor eco camp.

This base eco camp expedition combines amenities with remote peacefulness and helps you develop a true sense of place with time and space to practice mindfulness. On a the desert island in the Sea of Cortez, combine the ancient practice of Hatha yoga with the modern-day art of stand-up paddeboarding. Learn about local cultural and natural history, conservation efforts, and environmental education projects supported by Baja Expeditions. Customizable by request for groups (8-12); pilot trips begin Fall 2017-Spring 2018.

Baja Expeditions founder Tim Means played a key role, together with a supportive community, in orchestrating the designation of the Espíritu Santo Island group as a natural protected area. We hold the first and, to date, one of the very few minimum-impact base camp permits, and you may have neighbors down the beach including local school groups supporting ecology and conservation projectsa portion of the proceeds from your expedition goes to support this local programming.

Perfect for active adventurous folks and those looking to move their yoga practice out of doors, our expedition welcomes you to the beauty of a remote island cove and invites you to take it all in. Find time to reconnect with yourself and nature at our low-impact base camp where you can explore the island trails, and discover the island ecosystems of diverse flora and fauna. Enjoy delicious catered meals prepared with fresh local ingredients. All levels of yoga practitioners and paddlers welcome.
