Captain’s Noon Reports – Mango Wind– 2023-06-21

Another big day with the orcas. We meet them 3nm from the channel San Lorenzo in the bay of La Paz. They were feeding on a big kill, they stayed the entire day at the same spot for hours. Just before sighting the Orcas, we saw a sunfish MOLAMOLA about 5 ft in length, one of the biggest ones I have ever seen. Seemed as if it was trying to find shelter from the orcas but they had already eaten something.

The weather was hot and calm and at about 10 the wind started to blow. We then put the sail up as guests were extra happy and wanted to relax for the rest of the evening. water temp 78f vis 80ft choppy seas after midday so we seek shelter.
