Mike Lever is the owner of Baja Expeditions and the founder of Nautilus Adventures. He's a guy with a brain that never stops buzzing - full of ideas, dad jokes, and stories from a lifetime of ocean adventures.
Mike kicked things off over 30 years ago when he founded Nautilus Dive Adventures. He then spent most of his career as a full-time liveaboard captain, steering trips to wild destinations like Socorro, Guadalupe, and the Sea of Cortez. He knows exactly what it takes to run world-class adventures in some of the planet's most remote and challenging waters - from the icy coasts of British Columbia to the warm, wildlife-rich shores of Baja.
These days, Mike runs the show mostly from land — but don't let that fool you. His heart is still very much at sea. Born and raised in Canada, Baja quickly stole his heart. And honestly, who wouldn't fall for a place that's packed with natural beauty, adventure, and stories just waiting to be told?
Over the years, Mike forged a close bond with Baja Expeditions' original founder, Tim Means. When Tim passed in 2020, Mike stepped up to keep his legacy alive — honouring his friend's vision while bringing his own passion, experience, and signature sense of humor.
