The southern Sea of Cortez at its best: our favourite dive sites around La Paz, then the living spectacle of Cabo Pulmo National Park, one of the healthiest coral reefs in North America! Explore Jacques Cousteau's "aquarium of the world" during peak scuba diving season. Across these days you can expect up to four dives daily (except boarding and disembarkation days), including night dives, with almost certain visits to dive sites around Isla Cerralvo, La Reina and its epic summer baitballs (with luck, even giant mantas), the seamounts of El Bajo, the dramatic volcanic pinnacles of Isla Las Ánimas, and UNESCO-listed Isla Espíritu Santo, home to vibrant reefs as well as nearby shipwrecks. Exact itinerary depends on weather, conditions, and recent animal sightings. And the cherry on top, Cabo Pulmo National Park for two panga-accessed dives, where schools of jacks grow so dense they blot out the sun, and you can swim right into the heart of them. Expect swirling schools of fish, playful sea lions, moray eels, rays, large pods of dolphins, turtles year-round, and fingers crossed for hammerhead and bull sharks. We'll also keep eyes on the horizon for orcas and whales.
