San José Island Glamping Camp

Isla San José feels untouched by time — no roads, no crowds, just cactus-dotted desert, rugged mountains, red cliffs, and white-sand beaches, with one of the region’s most abundant marine environments right at your doorstep. Winter and spring bring some of the best whale watching in the Sea of Cortez, with the San José Channel sitting close to a known blue whale hotspot. Dolphins, sea lions, turtles, rays, and orcas all move through the surrounding waters year-round, while frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies pass overhead alongside dozens of migratory bird species each year. Daily ocean safaris aboard our 48-foot fast boats take you right into the heart of it all. The waters around San Jose Island in particular are excellent for kayaking and paddleboarding along the sea-carved coastline or through the extensive mangrove forests.

Our “pop up” zero-footprint glamping camp sits right on the beach of this pristine island. A large open-air awning provides a shaded space for dining, lounging, and enjoying drinks at the bar — mojitos on the beach, anyone?

Kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkelling equipment are included and ready whenever you are. And when the day winds down, treat yourself to a massage in our dedicated massage tent (available for an additional fee).

The camp is fully supported by a 50-ft-plus mothership, along with support boat and 48 ft fast boat for daily ocean safaris and activities.

Please note: as a zero-footprint pop-up camp operating within a protected natural park, the experience differs from a permanent glamping setup — which is exactly what makes it so special.

Each spacious tent is specially designed for the Baja climate and beautifully furnished with fine linens, a queen or twin bed, and a private en-suite bathroom. A dedicated team of chefs, hosts, and naturalist guides takes care of every detail — from fine dining on the beach to guided ocean safaris aboard our 48-foot fast boats.

Our fully equipped mothership anchored just offshore provides hot showers, air conditioning, Starlink internet, and 24-hour power — everything you need, never far away.
