Captain’s Noon Reports – Mango Wind– 2023-05-18

The weather was good yesterday wind blowing from the NE at 5-10 knots. At about 3.30 the wind died down to a mild 5 knots. Guests came back to the boat at 1.30 to have lunch while the wind and wave calm down. We put up the Genoa and sailed for 1.5 hrs while we had lunch.

We crank up the M/E so we could reach in time when we were to do the boarding in the evening. Guests went out at 16.00 to look for mobulas and whales. They were playing with some school that was around Punta Arenas. We anchor at Bahia de Los Muertos for the night and did the crew exchange at 6.30 pm.

It was very windy last night 10/15 knots all night. This morning we still had a choppy sea so the panga stayed inside the bay. They found a school of mobulas that were very playful. Visibility was 10-15 FT temp 70F wind 10-15knots. We will be hanging around the south of Cerralvo Island so we can look for whales and dolphins.
