Captain’s Noon Reports – Mango Wind– 2023-06-06

This morning there wasn’t much wind and calm seas no waves flat like a lake. We started the day at El Saltito. Some mobulas were jumping but not the big school. So, we decided to head down to Punta Arenas but the water was a bit choppy due to the strong current. MW was behind coming down the channel Cerralvo where we encountered a big pod of bottlenose dolphins.

The Panga was with the Mobulas in the Bahia De Los Muertos where they had a close-up encounter with a massive school of mobulas. They then headed to the pod of dolphins where they spent the rest of the afternoon with great encounters and playful dolphins.

The MW then headed to Punta Arenas in search of more critters but the wind picked up with choppy seas so we tucked into the Bay of Punta Arenas. Will see what we find tomorrow. Hope some orcas show up.
