One Gray Whale Breached Five Times!

Today was a great day at San Ignacio Lagoon! One of the guest asked me if gray whales jump, I told him a little about it but he was still incredulous. A few minutes later, as if answering his question, a whale breached. We saw it at distance but it was like the whale said “look at me, I can jump too” it was incredible. We all laughed.

We interacted with many whales, we saw many spy hops. We also saw one whale that breached 5 times! The guests enjoyed the day – the lagoon gave us a sunny day with a calmer sea.

During one sighting of the day, we saw several spy hops and we also saw a whale that we have been seeing for about 3 weeks in the lagoon, its name is Tigresa. She is very easy to identify because it has a very white head and some scratch-like marks on its body. Whenever we see it, it exhibits a behavior of scratching itself on the bottom because the moment it comes out into the water a yellow spot of sand is seen.
