    Season: Mid-January – Early-April

    The most amazing thing happens every winter and spring at the gray whale birthing lagoon halfway up Baja. This is an experience not to be missed. It's phenomenal, extraordinary, mind shattering. These whales will steal your heart when they look you in the eye and swim over to interact. The lagoon and surrounding desert are beautiful, and these trips are done in style, offering glamping and luxury villages, with direct 1 hour 50 minute fly-in flights from Cabo San Lucas.

    San Ignacio Gray Whales + Swim With Whale Sharks

    Season: January

    Every January there is a stunning opportunity to both swim with whale sharks AND meet the gray whales of San Ignacio Lagoon, thanks to a brief overlap of seasons. To take advantage of this, we highly recommend planning your visit with the whale sharks by January 25th latest. Every adventure includes humpback whale watching in Cabo, a naturalist guide, and 4 nights at a boutique hotel in La Paz.

    Season: Mid-January – Early-April

    This is a fabulous peak whale season adventure, combining 3 nights voyaging up towards Loreto National Park seeking out blue and humpback mommas and babies on our 116 ft expedition yacht, with a boutique hotel stay in La Paz. Enjoy humpback whale watching in Cabo, visit the UNESCO Isla Espíritu Santo and snorkelling with sea lions, and a private flight into our luxury camp at San Ignacio Lagoon for the most extraordinary whale interaction on the planet.

    Experience the Sea of Cortez like never before with a multi-day ocean safari adventure, including orca-permitted pangas, and…ite and a comfortable bed with fine linens. For added comfort, the pop-up camp is supported by a fully equipped mothership.

    Isla San José is one of the largest and wildest islands in the Sea of Cortez — home to living reefs and a tremendous variety of marine life, including dolphins, sea turtles, rays, sharks, and whales. It’s far enough from La Paz that its best reefs and close-by dive sites are usually reserved for liveaboard trips only. Now, glamping puts this remote paradise within reach.

    Season: April – August

    The Sea of Cortez is a magical and wonderful place teeming with marine creatures of all sizes. Our guests encounter and interact year-round with friendly California sea lions and mega pods of bottlenose dolphins. If we are lucky, we might also encounter spinner and Risso's dolphins. Mobula rays are present year-round and aggregate in enormous schools from March through July. Colossal fin whales (second in size only to blue whales), sperm whales, rays, and whale sharks are present year-round and migrate seasonally up and down the Sea of Cortez.

    Sea of Cortez Whale Sharks & Remote Islands

    Season: July – October

    Whale sharks!! Who doesn't want to swim with whale sharks, especially when there are lots of them in a deserted bay and national park deep into the reaches of the sea of cortez. Up to 220 friendly and curious whale sharks visit every season. This trip combines some of the best diving in the Sea of Cortez while keeping a sharp lookout for orcas, pilot whales, megapolis of dolphins, sperm and finback whales.

Remote Islands

    Season: July - August

    This trip offers a spectacular combo of orcas and whale sharks! Who doesn't want to swim with whale sharks, especially when there are lots of them in a deserted bay and national park deep into the reaches of the sea of cortez. Up to 220 friendly and curious whale sharks visit every season. The seasons only overlap once a year for 2 of these iconic animals (orcas are hoped for and searched for but not guaranteed) PLUS mega pods of dolphin, whales and some of the best diving in the sea of cortez.

    Season: Mid-October – January

    During October to January, a magical event happens in the nutrient rich swirling blue waters off Magdalena Bay where striped marlin gather to hunt on the second largest sardine run in the world. This thrilling underwater action is spectacular. There is an excellent chance of also seeing California sea lions, dolphin, wahoo, pelicans, and even the awe inspiring albatross.

    Season: July – August

    Experience the Sea of Cortez in all its exuberance for unforgettable family memories. Each day is different and can bring anything from super playful sea lions to orcas, whales, giant pods of dolphins, huge schools of fish, and maybe even a giant manta. Your naturalist guides and divemasters will be leading activities that might include kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling, swimming, scuba diving, beach walks, and hikes into the desert.

    Something we pioneered in Baja over a decade ago with more than 75 camps already offered. Swim trekking is where you can explore the coastlines and coves of the surrounding islands while swimming point-to-point accompanied by guides in kayak and safety boats. The clear waters allow you to see the sea life beneath you, and the rocky cliffs and hidden beaches make for an exhilarating and scenic swim.
